Research
Research Interests
My research interests include the physical therapy evaluation and management of patients with orofacial and spinal conditions, and the efficacy of joint mobilization / manipulation interventions.
physical therapy evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal injuries
Description of Current Projects: Orofacial Pain 1. the association between temporal summation and conditioned pain modulation testing, and pain and function outcomes in patients with orofacial pain 2. a description of the demographic and psychosocial variables of patients being seen for an initial visit at a specialty orofacial pain clinic
Description of Current Projects: Spinal Conditions 1. the predictive value of the STarT Back Screen Tool on function and pain outcomes among patients with low back pain being treated by clinicians using the McKenzie approach 2. the effectiveness of graded activity and graded exposure interventions on function and pain outcomes among patients with low back and neck pain being treated by clinicians using the McKenzie approach Joint Mobilization / Manipulation 3. the association between spinal mobilization and manipulation and changes in hip and knee strength in patients with patellofemoral joint pain 4. reliability of force and displacement of simulated joint mobilization glides
