Title Details
Director of the MS in Clinical Trial Sciences  8/09 Dr. Gladson is a Professor with appointments in both the School of Health Related Professions and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She received her BS degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979, her MS in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 1985, and her PhD in Pharmacology from UMDNJ in 1998. Dr. Gladson's past research includes electrophysiological studies on ion channels responsible for glucagon release conducted at Merck & Co. She has also performed clinical research in the area of hand injury and rehabilitation, oncology, and clinical investigation. Dr. Gladson is the Director of the UMDNJ Biopharma Educational Initiative. This initiative is a collaboration effort of the Nursing, Allied Health, Public Health, and Biomedical Science schools to develop graduate degree programs in clinical research. Dr. Gladson's areas of teaching include medical Pathophysiology, Pharmacokinetics, Cultural Diversity in Clinical Trials and Pharmacology. She has developed several web-based courses and has recently completed a textbook in pharmacology. Dr. Gladsons is intricately involved in the University efforts to improve conduct and subject recruitment in clinical trials as well as educating the public on the value of participating in a clinical trial. She also is active in the Drug Information Association, holding several committee chair positions. Her current research interests include the use of Patient Targeted Informatics to help recruit minority volunteers to clinical trials
