I. Purpose

This policy allows a student to take a limited number of SHP credits as a non-matriculant student.

II. Accountability

The Program Directors and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs are responsible for this policy. The SHP Office of Enrollment Management implements this policy.

III. Applicability

At the discretion of the Program Director, persons may enroll in SHP courses as non- matriculant students. Such students will be limited to a maximum number of 12 credits and will not be considered to be pursuing an institutional credential (University certificate or degree). Registration for more than 12 credits must be approved by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Persons applying for non-matriculation status shall be required to complete the Non- Matriculant Status form, submit appropriate health documents as needed, and pay a processing fee. Other documents may be required at the discretion of the Program Director.

Non-matriculated students completing a clinical course(s) will be required to complete all formal requirements as matriculated students in a clinical course. This may include, but is not limited to, criminal background checks, immunizations, and health insurance.

Non-matriculant students may request to change their status to matriculant by submitting all application documents required by the program. Being a non-matriculated student does not assure admission for matriculation by the Program's admissions committee.

Students can obtain information from the SHP website under the Non Matriculated student section of the SHP website at
