I. Purpose
This policy describes the disciplinary policy and procedures for all matters related to an infraction of federal, state or local civil or criminal laws and regulations; infractions of University or school policies or procedures; and professional and academic codes of honor or standards of behavior other than those listed under the University Policy on Academic Integrity. Examples may include sexual harassment, stealing, intimidation or bullying, including any gesture, any written, verbal or physical act, or any electronic communication that is reasonably perceived as being motivated either by an actual or perceived characteristic such as race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or a mental, physical or sensory disability, or by any other distinguishing characteristic.
II. Accountability
The faculty and students are responsible for adherence to this policy. Program Directors, Department Chairs, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and the Dean/designee monitor the policy.
III. Policy
SHP adheres to the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences Policy on "Student Rights, Responsibilities and Disciplinary Procedures" for all infractions except academic integrity violations. For matters related to academic integrity, please see SHP policy 6.5.3
